Clarice Connelly '77 | Alumna of the Year
Clarice Connelly is a proud Alum from the Presentation Academy class of 1977. For over 10 years, Clarice has been the key point of contact and agent for her classmates. From reunion planning to organizing impromptu gatherings to sharing Pres updates, Clarice has ensured the connectivity of not only her '77 classmates but also continually fosters a relationship with alum from multiple years.
Clarice is a past President of the Alumnae Board, where the Board instituted the Honorary Alumni Award. She was actively involved with Presentation's 175th anniversary where her writing skills helped complete the anniversary's commemorative Tower newsletter.
Clarice's most important and cherished moments surround her 3 Godchildren, whom she met during her years as a foster parent at St. Joseph's Children's Home. The Godchildren and Clarice continue to eat, cook, play sports, go to the park, and in general have a blast hanging out and eating ice cream.
Since graduation, Clarice has maintained 45+ years of visibly active Pres participation. She exemplifies the tenets of being, not just an alum, but a true ambassador for our PA. Clarice's heart & soul work in tandem to keep the home fires of Pres warm in everyone's heart.
Miranda Stone Reece '12 | Young Alumna of the Year
Since graduating from Presentation in 2012, Miranda Stone Reece lives the values instilled during her years at Pres through her work in the Louisville nonprofit community. Miranda serves on multiple community boards including the Fund Raising Executives of Metro Louisville (FREML) Executive Committee and the Louisville Youth Philanthropy Council (LYPC).
With a strong commitment to service and giving back, Miranda especially shines in her work with the Louisville Youth Philanthropy Council. She represented Presentation on the council when she was a student and returns to speak and recruit current students to participate with the council. In addition, Miranda is one of the newest members of Presentation's Board of Trustees and already excels in the role, serving on the school's Advancement Committee and assisting with outreach to alumnae.
As a sister, cousin, granddaughter and great-granddaughter of Pres graduates, Miranda's designation as a legacy alum runs deep. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Her sincerity, humility and kind demeanor is accented by her strength, commitment, and dedication to Pres. She is a role model for current students, alum and forth-coming Pres sisters.
To sum up Miranda is to quote her; "as the Manager of Gift & Donor Services at the Community Foundation of Louisville, I have the privilege of helping generous people make the world a better place." We thank Miranda for maintaining her devotion and relationship to the local community and to Pres. We look forward to her active sisterhood for many years to come.
Ann Alvey Triplett '65 | Topper Service Award
Ann Alvey Triplett is a Louisville native and proud Pres '65 graduate and valedictorian. As a cousin of Mother Catherine Spalding, Ann was taught the value of service and charity at an early age.
After permanently returning to Louisville in 1991, Ann was part of the Save Pres campaign drive, manning the phones then and participating in countless giving phonathons later. She subsequently joined the Presentation Alumnae Board and served until 2013. While on the board, Ann held every office and gained full knowledge of the importance of alumnae participation. She has served on The Tower Awards Committee and the Tower Treasures committee for many years. Since 2014 (when she retired from fulltime nursing) Ann has been a member of the Presentation Craft and Archive group that meets weekly. These groups assist with a multitude of activities and events that benefit Pres students, various Pres fundraisers and seasonal activities. In addition, Ann succeeded in involving Pres students in community and civic activities sponsored by the South Fourth Street Neighborhood Association, i.e., the St. James Art Show, and the Conrad Caldwell House Museum.
Ann personifies the meaning of the word volunteer; a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task. She readily shares her time, talent and treasure with Pres. We are truly blessed to have Ann Alvey Triplett in our sisterhood.
